An ethnographic documentary about body suspension based on research conducted during the summer of 2023. 42 mins
The first draft of many; this is an ongoing project which has grown over time and space since I made the initial film. Hooks Thrown is a collaboration between myself and the many suspension practitioners who have welcomed me into their world and shown me great generosity. Forever grateful and awed by every one of you.

My undergraduate thesis, titled “Skin Meets Hook: An Ethnography of Body Suspension” received high honors from Wesleyan University’s Anthropology department. This documentary was made alongside and in conversation with the written work.
